Tuesday and Wednesday - early matches. Set your PVRs. Arsenal v. Pool is the best match on paper. United should handle Roma no problem. Barcelona v. Schalke shouldn't be much of a match to be honest but who knows. I won't watch Chelsea v. Fenerbahce because *fudge* them that's why. Their owner for the past five years or so, Russian oilman Roman Abramovich, has dropped a fortune on the transfer market in an effort to buy silverware. This has artificially inflated the value of players worldwide and now we're at a spot where only the richest clubs have any chance at a title. I lay the blame squarely at his feet. Its purely free agent spending without any team building at all. As much as the locals like to accuse my team, Arsenal, of bringing in nothing but foreigners - they have done it by developing young players... no overspending, no quick fix solutions (even though I wanted them too a few months ago). My cousin and I watched the first half in a pizza restaurant at lunch. Behind us were a bunch of Irish guys watching the match over our heads. Turned around after a few minutes to see a bunch of AIG logos on their gear. *goshdarn* Mancky Wankies anyway. Then Mark (Reds fanboi) started piping up about how much United suck.
