Paramedic Anthony de Wit says the man was among a group of white water rafters on the West Kiewa River in the northeast Victoria state when his kayak became stuck in a fallen tree on Sunday. Dewit says the 38-year-old man broke two bones in his lower leg wrenching himself free. Post by: Clive on September 16, 2008, 08:09:27 AM I must be reading it differently. I don't see that he broke his leg to, say, gain a position that let him keep his head above water. More that, in the course of struggling to free himself, his leg broke.
