Title: Re: The '08 Lions... Post by: gleek on November 08, 2009, 04:44:59 PM john.mckay.weeps The '76 Bucs get an asterisk since they played only 14 games back then. The '08 Lions are asterisk-free. LOL True. Title: Re: The '08 Lions... Post by: MFAWG on November 08, 2009, 05:29:16 PM I remember the '76 Bucs. I watched the '76 Bucs play. The '08 Lions, sir, were no '76 Bucs.

Apparently you didn't see the minnesowta game that the ref's stole from the lions and sentenced them to infamy. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=281012016 Title: Re: The '08 Lions... Post by: MFAWG on November 09, 2009, 06:14:31 PM Seriously, it's really kind of hard to explain the epic, epic level of fail that were the 1976 Bucs. They didn't score a POINT until the 3d game of the season, and it took another whole game to actually score a TD. Add in the ridiculous uniform (I mean, it's a gay pirate. In orange. A gay, orange pirate.) and the inimitable John McKay ("We've determined that we can't win at home and we can't win on the road. What we need is a neutral site") and it's a level of fail probably unparalleled in professional sport.
The '76 Bucs changed football forever. |
