Title: Miscellaneous Rant Thread
Post by: dystopia on December 15, 2006, 12:52:16 PM
Come rant with me. Got a rant that you need to rant, but don't have a suitable ranting place for it? Post it here.

My rants for today:

1) Windows Update - stop it already, enough is enough(http://www.golfhos.com/forum/Smileys/other/pound.gif)

2) Stick Family Car Stickers - this should never have become a fad in the first place.  Here's hoping they join "Baby on Board" signs soon.

almost as cool as the latino texas thing of having the husband (driver side) and wife (pass. side) names in gothic/old english lettering with the family name in HUGE lettering (spanning all across ) underneath   on the back window of the pickup cabs
 :D

I've never seen the stick figure people before. Never seen the name thing either. Then again, I never pay attention when I drive so maybe I just missed it.

I always thought the stick people family in the window thing was a Utah deal. Silly Mormons and their 18 kids and all. Along the same lines as Aske's post, we see a lot of husband/wife names airbrushed on their respective doors. Apparently redneck feminism includes ensuring that the female's name is on the driver's side, and a license plate frame that says "no, this is NOT my husband's truck."

So in Utah, are there some cars with windows filled that many kids (18)?  That would be pretty amusing to see.

Since I drive through San Francisco and Berkeley, I've been expecting to see family stickers consisting of a lesbian couple, the adopted soccer-playing kid, the labradoodle, and the sullen amoeba, but nothing so far.  I think the stickers are a suburbia thing.

I haven't seen the husband/wife names on the doors around here, which surprises me.

Okay, 18 kids might be a bit of a reach, but not much of one. I went to high school with a guy who was the oldest of 15. His parents divorced shortly after the birth of the 15th. Apparently once they decided to not have anymore kids, they discovered that making babies was the only thing they had in common.
