I'm a bit of a watch enthusiast.  Lately I've been thinking of adding a vintage automatic to the stable.  I came across this 1970's vintage Swiss made automatic on ebay.  Tressa Watch Company is no longer in business, but their watches were pretty good quality, genuine Swiss made movements.

The problem is that I can't decide if this watch is really sharp, or hideously ugly.  At times it strikes me as both.

Opinions, cool or barf?

In all honesty I wouldn't wear it, but not because I think it's particularly hideous, it's just not really my style. If I saw someone else wearing it, I certainly wouldn't find problem with it.

Wow, it's certainly no everyday watch -- pretty glam.  But it has a cool retro look, if you're asking.

I'd hit it.

I like the shape of it, but I'm not into the shiny section in the center of the face (mother of pearl?).  I don't think I could pull that off, but I usually dress pretty casual.  Oddly, I would have liked a more industrial-looking watch like the first picture, which showed the inner workings.

Sounds like you'd like skeleton watch.  Clear dial so you can see the movement running.

I'm really on the fence. I should probably just be patient and something I like better will probably come along, but I've been looking at this watch all week with my finger on the "Buy it now" trigger. :hungry:

Not exactly my style but it would be unique. I think it is very interesting looking.

Not a bad looking watch, not one I'd wear but if I was a collector then I could easily see why you wanted it for your collection.  Congrats on caving and on a thread asking for our thoughts when you know you already had your mind made up! ;D

Ha!!  I have to confess to the same kind of snooping when the opportunity presents itself.  Sorry to say there wouldn't have been anything "exciting" in my ebay past.  Some golf clubs, some watches, some Thomas the Tank Engine crap for my kid, etc.

Pretty much on target, I think.  Though in all honesty, if everyone had replied that it was an eyesore, I likely would not have bought it.

Thanks.  I really like it.  I'm not a watch wearer(can't because of work) but I will wear one when we go out, or on weekends.

So, we were out shopping one day, and I saw this watch.  It's really pretty big, so it's one of those taste things.  Love it or hate it.  I told Karen, I like this watch.

The brand is Vestal.  This model is the Destroyer.

Congrats on the watch - I think it's way cool. 

I like clocks in general, though.  I seriously covet automatic watches - or even manual wind watches. 
But, I'm with dystopia - an automatic watch with a clear face so you can watch it wind itself...   [sm_love]

Does it go tick tock.Thats normally a good sign.And unless you're responsible for Panda reproduction it should be accurate enough.
