Title: Work? Post by: stroh on November 28, 2006, 05:24:21 PM Days: Mon - Fri.
Hours: Rotating 7:30-4, 8-4:30, 8:30-5 Weekends: Every 4th Saturday Holidays: Paid. Vacation: PTO(very thin, ~2.5 weeks) Paid: Hourly I have wanted for a while to move to 3 12 hour days/week. I don't see it happening. :sad3: Title: Re: Work? Post by: Aske on November 28, 2006, 05:31:41 PM Mon-Fri : whenver I want, but basically 930-530 (occasionally more, occasionally less)
Sat/Sunday (and evenings): whatever is needed to get the week's work finished Vacation: supposedly 10 personal/sick days on top of the university holidays (which I work anyways because FINALLY there's nobody else around!) Pay: salaried. you can't get a 40 hour week anyways when 8-12 hours a week are tied up in meetings/presentations/phone conferences. You work till you get what you need to get done done Benefits: about 75% premium paid of best offered health insurance (basically spend nothing more than $20 for anything ever in network) for me and sal, free bus/shuttle pass, great internet conxn for surfing around during breaks, subsidized software costs Title: Re: Work? Post by: Salamander on November 28, 2006, 05:32:57 PM Days: Mon - Fri.
Hours: 8:30-5, one hour unpaid lunch Weekends: All Holidays: Unpaid, and that's Uni holidays Vacation: Eh? Paid: Hourly ---------------- The Joys of Temping. Let's hope it'll change soon! Title: Re: Work? Post by: twoiron on November 28, 2006, 05:53:19 PM Days: Mon-Fri
Hours: techincally 8:30 to 5:00 with one hour lunch Holidays: Public Holidays, 4 weeks annual leave, 10 sick days (that accrue if unused) Pretty standard really Title: Re: Work? Post by: Uisce Beatha on November 28, 2006, 06:00:11 PM Days: M-F with plenty of Sa-Su.
Hours: 7:00-6:00 although last night it was 8:00 and I'm still here right now. Weekends: As the job requires, and it does. Holidays: After a base salary I bill hourly. If I don't work, I get less. Vacation: See holidays. Paid: See holidays. SBO-ship can be nice and it can be brutal. Yes, you get to call the shots but you're the one who pays if you make the wrong call. Oh, and never forget, your boss is a complete tool. ;D Title: Re: Work? Post by: Torpedo on November 28, 2006, 06:14:39 PM I don't work. ;D
Title: Re: Work? Post by: Uisce Beatha on November 28, 2006, 06:29:32 PM I don't work. ;D Sure you do. :) I tell my son all the time that school is his "job" and I'm the guy who pays his wages. If he tries hard and/or does well, life is good. If not, hit the soup line brother. Title: Re: Work? Post by: stegerman on November 28, 2006, 06:42:40 PM Days: Usually Mon-Fri
Hours: 8-5 is what it says on the job description Holidays: None Vacation: We get PTO which covers vacation, sick and holidays. Accumulates at roughly 18 hours a month. Paid: Salaried Exempt Title: Re: Work? Post by: Dunk on November 28, 2006, 07:03:39 PM 7 on 2 off.
8 on 4 off. My shift is either 3:30pm to 12:30am, or 9:30am to 6:30pm. I get one of three weekends off, and that one is a four day weekend (Friday to Monday). Because of this shift rotation, I get tons of opportunities to golf during the week. I rarely, if ever, golf on weekends. Title: Re: Work? Post by: spacey on November 28, 2006, 08:14:38 PM Mon-Fri (on call on weekends, don't ever get called save a serious PR crisis)
Hours are typically 8:30-5 though not set in stone 40-60 hours per week, depending on week, time of year, PR crises, etc Salaried/Exempt Holidays: 13 per year Vacation/Sick: Accrued, amounts to roughly 5 weeks per year Title: Re: Work? No, the facility by Stonebridge is all Health Plans (insurance) and IT employees. My office is in the Metro Business park in West Valley (2200 S 1300 W). I'm much closer to Glendale [sm_disgust]. Don't know a Mike Devilla (can't find him in the directory either), but we have 26,000 employees and I probably only know a couple hundred of them. Title: Re: Work? Post by: Seamus on November 29, 2006, 09:03:37 AM Was pretty standard until just recently. Layoffs are hitting as I type this.
My boss was always flexible with us "come in get your stuff done get out". Hours 8-4, 7-3, 9-3, 7-2...whatever. Vacation accrued at 13 hours per month until we hit 160 hours and then you had to use it or lose it. Sick leave accrued at 7 hours per month and could go on infinitely. Title: Re: Work? I was in that situation about 5 years ago. The fact that my boss at the time was a good friend was the only reason I even put forth an ounce of effort. My boss was always flexible with us "come in get your stuff done get out". One of my family's closest friends works in the I.T. dept. and I was wondering if you might know him. Or maybe if he has worked on a comp you have used. lol. But he's only been there a year and a half or so. His name is Mike, too, but with a different surname of course. And then there's my best friend's Dad, who is a neuro tech. He's been there for, hmm, approx 20 years (give or take) I think. I'm not very familiar with Suburban Imaging, though. Title: Re: Work?
