Title: Super Tricked Up Pin Positions.
Post by: Aske on August 22, 2008, 05:27:39 PM
buddy and me skipped out today to play 18, needless to say, I sucked horribly having not hit balls in a few weeks, anyways, the highlight of the day was a hole with a 3 tier green and a pin position basically sitting on a saddle point (for those who took Calc  LOL).  after reaching in GIR, I 5 putted, and my buddy was over the green in reg, and took 8 shots from there to get in.  only 1 was seriously a 'bad' shot.

So the way I read that you had a triple and a, what, +6 between you?  And only one "bad" shot?

You guys suck.   [sm_devil]

About five years ago I played with my uncle and my cousin on a green with the hole cut right on the ridge between the two tiers.  I don't mean on top of the ridge.  I mean right on the ridge.  There was no way leave a ball within three feet.  You had to ram it in, end of story.  Between the three of us we had 16 putts.  It was so stupid we just laughed.

A few years ago my home course had a "ground's keepers revenge" tournament.  Greens were as fast as they could be made with insane pins.  We had fun because going in we knew the deal, but still it is a byotch to 8 putt  -- and be really thankful that it went in.

I played one course that had a pin placement on the side of a severe slope.  No way you could keep the ball within 5 feet.

Another course had a flat green, but it was all sloped and windy enough that you couldn't keep the ball on the green.  After a few tries, we moved on to the next hole.  I never played that course again.
