In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.

Guesswho, I'm sure you must realize that the Gores have a home that is substantially larger than the average American home, and further that they have some unique demands placed on their home (e.g. Secret Service outpost) that we ordinary folk do not.

Good rebuttal. Very scientific.

Seriously, though, and with all due respect if you want to troll your typical "libs are the cause of all the world's problems" bull*feces*, take it back "over there" and I'll be happy to engage you in the existing forum for such silliness. It's a friendly forum and that's not how we play here. Check your carry over baggage at the door and play nice or feel free to get out. Even prokrop managed to play well with others until he decided to check out.

If the other members here feel differently, I'll expect them to chime in, but political discussions here are not terribly serious and are, at least to date, treated lightly. If you can't abide by this, don't enter the discussions or don't come to the forum. The choice is yours.

I'd say given some of the discussion on the issue (not just on this forum, but from a complete global view), you're far from out of your league. In fact farty armpit noises are about as well crafted as nearly half the arguments I've ever heard on the subject. Please continue.

It has nothing to do with being a "lib," sucking up to mods, or anything else. It has to do with my personal knowledge that the admin here has no trouble banning trolls. (I really don't know what it takes to get banned from FGI, but give it your best shot if you so desire.)

Seriously, what is your major malfunction? We have contributing members here from all walks of life, all political, social, and religious beliefs, etc. People who disagree here generally say nothing, or make jokes. You're the only one who's acting as though someone has kicked you in the nuts and spit on your mother's grave. Why is that?

After you came here, you began trolling almost immediately. All but maybe 4-6 of your posts have been based on some apparent and focused obsession. If you have some sort of hard on for me over things I've said to you in FGI P&R, fine, keep it there. I'll be happy to rebut over there. If your life just sucks and the only pleasure you ever get is creating anonymous online hostility, find another place for it. That's not what this place is about.

If you get banned here (or over there for that matter), I won't lose one second of sleep over it, but ultimately it will have to do with your own behavior, not my recommendation. Play nice here, or go home.

[my .02]
I don't think we should vote with smite.  spaceage laid it out to Guesswho pretty plain and simple.  I say let Guesswho's actions from here out dictate whether banning is appropriate.

I have no idea who Guesswho is here, or there.  I don't participate in political discussions, here or there.  The time and effort spent researching and learning what is required for an informed and intelligent dialogue, is more than than I carry interest.

Guesswho, whatever your intentions for provocations with spaceage are, he has made it clear on several occasions, that he is willing to indulge your offense in P & R at FGI.  I suggest you keep your exchanges on these types of discussions, by accepting that offer, and those terms.

I will not "vote" to have you banned, but there is no doubt that ones actions will eventually lead them to the action they deserve.

We have a good thing going here.  All are welcome, if they treat others with respect.

It's pretty clear that Guesswho has a pebble in his shoe for some reason. But the whole Lord of the Flies, Survivor vote off the island thing seems not the way to go. For me at least. But I've always been down with the whole no likee, no clickee crowd. Pretty soon the folks who need attention like they need oxygen will whither.

Stroh, don't short change yourself.  That was worth at least a nickel.

I like libs.  Some of my best friends are libs.  I'm not a lib though.  I have no use for sandals, tofu and the 35% tax bracket.  I don't think Susan Sarandon is the least bit hot.  I think Charlton Heston is wicked cool even though I'm pretty sure he's not really Moses.  I've listened to Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly on a daily basis although my all time favorite is Gene Burns.  I think Hannity needs to tone it down a bit but he's way better than that *humid grotto* Colmes.  Over 90% of my clothes are made in Filipino sweat shops.  I like Israel. I used to support the war in Iraq.

Now the flip side.  I drive Hondas.  I think the planet is worth saving even if we're not sure it needs it.  I think the poor need a hand up and two if they're pushing off with their feet.  I believe the fortunate (i.e. USA) have an obligation to help the less the fortunate.  It's not a legal obligation; it's a moral obligation.  I think Guilliani is the best Republican candiate and Obama is the best overall candidate (opinion subject to change).  I no longer support the war in Iraq.

So what's the point?  Nothing really.  But it might be worth noting the entirety of the "libs" on this board don't grate on my nerves as much as a single troll.

Now... where'd I put my Courvoisier?

Despite a current wild conspiracy theory and some sort of rumored magic banninating powers, I'm really not a proponent of banning. I'd much prefer people be decent. Having said that, I happen to believe that every time an unabashed and unrepentant troll gets banned, an angel gets her wings.

My preference, in order:
1) Be cool
2) Be gone
3) Be banned

Not a big fan of the ignore function, though I might ultimately go that route. If I do, I'll say the feature is way better here than it is "over there." Here it's like all evidence of the ignored is simply wiped away.

Not to mention, unlike average homes (to which Gore's consumption is compared), Gore surely has 24 hour security, a constantly lighted property, and a home that is probably never empty. While I don't think he still gets Secret Service protection, I'm sure he has private security staff at all times. He'd be crazy not to.

The lights are probably on all day and night, and with good reason.

How did moderator JDerion get a karma score of 140 when he has only 289 posts?  In light of resident post addict Aske having a karma of 31 after nearly 9000 posts, something seems askew. [sm_scratch]

I think a blue ribbon (Pabst, that is) panel investigation may be in order.

By the way, I understand that liberals exhale more carbon dioxide than conservatives, and thus they are actually more damaging to the environment.

That is true, but only because we get laid more often, and we engage in the act with more vigor and for longer than 37 seconds.

Also, do not question my karma ever again. I have so much of it I can afford to chuck some at your head. Whatever you can catch you can keep; I won't miss it and you could use some.

Now please, do not provoke me further and let this issue drop. My powers of moderation are vast and far superior to anything you have ever imagined.
