Being that my dad's in the dental field (technician not dentist), there's a lot I have to say about this topic. Number 1: Don't cut corners. Getting 1 hour dentures = poor quality, soon needing repair Number 2: For that matter, only go to a dentist that is reputable. Number 3: Stuff breaks. To avoid, change bits sooner rather than later. (Even then it's not a guarantee) Actually, I think Especially in regards to this case: Number 4: Music really can be a distraction Number 5: This is an emergency dental clinic not an emergency medical clinic. That "dentist" should not have even tried to remove it, especially not with a metal hook. I remember back in middle school or so, there was this kid who was bragging about his dad being an oral surgeon. I laughed and said, "Wouldn't it be easier to perform surgery with your hands?" But there is a difference between a dentist and an oral surgeon. Namely, the oral surgeon has much more extensive training in surgery. It's one thing to perform the surgical procedure of extracting a tooth, it's another to remove an object for the sinus/nose. As it is, there are dentists that struggle with what they've "learned". And you wouldn't want someone like that trying to perform something of which they haven't had much study. If it was me, I would rather tough out the pain until the next day when I could get an emergency appointment with a proven dentist than go to a emergency dental clinic not knowing who I'll get. That's just me, though. |
