That thinking is bad.  So I would never judge a person by the color of their skin or appearance to put them in a category, or "profile" them.

However,  We have such a huge illegal immigration problem, that I do think it's ok to stop people that look Hispanic (I'd stop right there but I'll give her the global benefit of the doubt)  Asian, African, Middle Eastern, Inuit Indian, etc.  Just to make sure it's ok for you to be here........

Got it, and I wasn't casting aspersions: We all make assumptions about people based on appearance.

Some of is are smart enough to realize those assumptions may not be correct.

The whole immigration argument is based on a very, very simple premise:

The Darks (or The Wrong Kind Of White in the case of Irish and Eastern European Immigrants) are take all our moneys, because they are all on welfare and whatever.

Colorado spent 25 million dollars to ensure NOBODY who was here illegally was  getting any kind of state funded assistance. The first year the program was in effect they saved something like 250 thousand dollars.

If you do the math, they will recoup that investment in about 100 years.

My stance on immigration legal or illegal (has been well documented here) but is simply this:  Come here.  I'm cool with that.  If it sucks that much where you are, fine.  Come here and chase the 'Merkan dream.  I don't want to go to sleep at night knowing that some people are being raped, burned, pillaged, shot, stabbed and persecuted for beliefs somewhere.

Come to 'Merka.  I can't say that living in New York, Minneapolis, or L.A. you won't get raped, burned, pillaged, shot, stabbed, or persecuted for anything but hey it may be better than what you came from.  So here bud.  Give 'er a go.

No one should have to live that way, and everyone should have a chance to make things better (In their mind) for their family and most importantly for the children who have no advocate and know no better.

All I ask is that once you're here, you pay the tab like I do.

Generally I reckon these things are held just so that some women who's only contribution to society is to look good and *fudge*, something else to do before they get married, at which point they'll still look good and *fudge*, but they'll also do some housework...
