I'd give him three bows if he wasn't such an eejit in thinking there are bad Irishmen.  Probably some bad Norman blood lingering in his system.

He seemed a little cranky with that article.

Ah, the beauty of living in the sticks.  GPS technology is light years away, and the only people using range finders are the bow hunters who are out hunting this time of the year.

Think I would have stated it a bit differently, but he makes a good point.

I think he makes a great point.  Enjoy your round your way and let me enjoy my round my way.

I mean, but he is usually a douche.

Oh, yeah.  Sorry, wasn't arguing that.  I tend to agree with his point, and usually play the same way.  If I want help, I'll ask for it.

I was commenting on his (perceived) I'm above you, cram it down my throat, do it my way, dissertation.

I agree with him.  I had a rangefinder but sold it mainly because I missed the process of determining the yardage on my own.

I played with Fuzz, and he has a GPS dealie.  I did like it, and the yardages he gave did influence my club selection.  If I was playing with him again, I would ask him for some distances.

The way I read the article was more of the "Techno Gadget Guy" running around with his gizmo and forcing yardages at every one because he could/and thought it was his obligation.  I mean after all, that's what he bought if for right?  'Cause you and I need him.

This is where I agree with Hewitt.

FTR, Fuzz is nothing close to that.

A couple of my friends have the GPS thingys and I'll occaisionally ask for yardage to compare against mine especially if mine is a partial guess.  I agree it is nice for certain situations.

LOL.  We're both so predictable.

Incidentally, I'm not using my GPS much at all.  Since I joined a private club and play the same course a lot, I don't need it.  Didn't use it at DS either

But I may use it on my next trip when I play some completely new courses  [sm_poke]

66 days, 0 hours, 16 minutes, 3 seconds and counting.

No GPS + no rangefinders + no carts + great golf + great courses + great food + great pints + great company = [sm_poke]

Oooooooo - I'd love to play Bandon

Can't make it this year, but whats the routine?  How many days, how many people, games, etc.?

Three days.  Four nights with the last one near the airport in Eugene or Portland.  Golf is Pacific twice and Bandon once.

So far we've had 4 people once and 2 people twice.  Three this year.

We're trying to get exact multiples of four.  It's becoming harder and harder to get the reservations if you're not on the ball.  The first year Clive got us totally hooked up for December in October (I think).  The next year July put us on a wait list for the room.  This year late May put us on a wait list and we're still trying to get one tee-time straightened out for Clive.  We're planning on making next year's reservation on the way out the door after this year's last round.

We always shoot for the first full weekend of December in order to get the screaming deal.  That means the first night in the room has to be Dec. 1st or greater.  You can't stay Nov. 30th, play golf on the 1st for the first time and still get the deal.

Open invitation to be honest.  The only thing is trying to organize this can be a pain if people aren't committed as deposits are required.  Serious inquiries accepted via P.M.

2008 will probably be three days of golf somewhere within Dec. 5-8 with either the 5th or the 8th a travel day.  Obviously the 4th or the 9th will also be a travel day.  Unless you're within driving distance of course.

I'm jealous. It's been 2 1/2 years since I was out there. I absolutely loved it.

Thanks Mike. I've always been a "I'll ask for advice when I want it" type of person on the golf course.

But I look forward to the day I play with Uisce.   [sm_devil]

That is a trip I have wanted to take with my dad. I may have to talk to him about it. Of course he mentioned to me that he wants to go to Orlando, wants to see the boys at Disney while they are still young. Torn between two loves.
