Title: Black Friday Stories
Post by: dystopia on November 23, 2007, 01:13:29 PM
Did anybody buy anything or witness/take part in the craziness?  I'm curious how it went.

I stayed away from the sales, but did go to a Peet's Coffee and Trader Joes this morning.  Both were pleasantly empty. :)

not this year.  decided to research my purchase (car GPS) more before buying.  in the end just wasn't' sure the sale model was the one i actually want.   will decide and then do the day after xmas  sales .

a friend went to bestbuy / office max   for a 42" hdtv and said by 10:30pm last night there were already 100+ people at bestbuy.  she ended up giving up on that and going back to office max this morning at 4 and was 3rd in line and got the olevia model there.  she didn't recount the bestbuy line but told me it went from bestbuy to 5 stores over (it's a strip mall complex)... which i estimate would probably be about 1000 people.

Not me, either.  There were some pretty good flash drive deals (4 GB for ~$20), but I decided to hold off 'cause what I have is sufficient right now.

Had to work.  Wouldn't have gone out anyway.  Nothing I really had my eye on or needed.

I did have fun driving with the people stopped at lights and such.  Making them believe that I was possibly going to get to Target before them, and they would miss out on the last Cabbage Patch doll.

Oh, good times.
