Title: Transfer Talk
Post by: hobbit on August 03, 2008, 11:57:45 AM
These guys occasionally crack me up...

Premier League - Transfer Talk (http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/03082008/58/premier-league-transfer-talk-capital-punishment.html)

Quote
The Cristiano Ronaldo-Real Madrid transfer saga has dragged on for so long it's hard to even feign interest anymore, but Transfer Talk has come up with a novel solution: CAPITAL LETTERS!!!

With CAPITAL LETTERS, a seemingly lifeless story that everyone has had quite enough of is suddenly injected with NEW LIFE and actually becomes VERY INTERESTING INDEED.

Thus, Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster has SENSATIONALLY revealed that his club is STILL in the hunt for Ronaldo, DESPITE being publicly REBUFFED by Manchester United on SEVERAL OCCASIONS.

And in the 'commentary that means nothing to most' category...

Ashton Villa want ~17M for Barry, Liverpool ~10M for Alonso.  While some consider both to be over-priced, I'd take Alonso for 10 everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.  No idea what Arsene is waiting on - although 'Pool have shown their hand and may have to come down on Alonso.

Time to setup a new season in the EPL fantasy league?

Pool have to sell Alonso in order to afford Barry.  The Gillette/Hicks era isn't all that indeed.  What a joke.

Arsene does have to live up to his cheap bastard reputation.   ;)

Barry on the pitch puts Gerrard in his favorite and most lethal position in the center.  With Torres up front, Keane just behind and possibly off to the right and Gerrard/Barry working magic in support Pool could really be something.  They haven't scored a goal in all their friendlies prior to thrashing the Evil Ibrox Bollocks *8==>*heads yesterday.  I think they'll challenge for the title although United will be difficult/impossible to beat.

I'll set up the new fantasy season and invite everyone from last year.  Anyone else interested let me know.

Anyone else interested let me know.

I'll send a PM.

I haven't done anything like this for a while. May as well try my luck.

Plus, anything involving a fantasy and Uisce is bound to be entertaining.

  :-[  ;)

Still waiting for a Flamini replacement that is noticeably better than Diaby/Denilson - otherwise, don't waste your time and go with what ya have.  Sign someone worth a *feces* or not at all!
