Our little City has a weekly paper that comes out every Thursday and one of the highlights is the police report section. I don't think you can judge where you live by the ranking of the entire city. I think the neighorhood in which you live makes a big difference. Long story short and I'm not going to get into it for fear of lighting a match in here but gleek's take is spot on. There are places/neighborhoods in most any city that have a disproportionate amount of police calls.
