Title: Trivia by number
Post by: gleek on February 06, 2008, 02:57:58 PM
1. Guess the significance of a number. Subject matter can be anything, but should be based on common knowledge. Nothing too esoteric.
2. Refrain from using Google/Wikipedia.
3. Sports records don't have to all-time best. They can be records that have stood for many years but have recently been broken.
4. Some numbers may have multiple correct answers so even if your response isn't what the submitter of the clue intended, it could still be correct.
5. If you answer correctly, post the next clue.

Let's start with a can of corn:

He's cute, he's cuddly, and he's flatulent. There's nothing he likes more than to be in the arms of some poor, unsuspecting victim so he can let out a big, juicy one when you press the remote control. And he's so embarrassed; his little cheeks glow blushing red whenever he passes gas. Adorable as he is, he's always forgiven. You, maybe not. Polyester fiber and fill and plastic pellet fill. Uses 5 "AA" batteries, included. About 17" tall.

Yet, I think I once heard that the Earth is closer to a perfect sphere than anything that humans are able to create/machine. The tallest mountain is only 6 miles high and the diameter is around 8,000 miles. That's pretty amazing from a tolerance standpoint.
