FWIW, it was Ron Gant Hrbek body slammed, and yes I DO remember it well. I knew we were doomed, which is the magic of baseball in general and the World Series in particular. You're right...I had Lonnie Smith in my head for some reason. Probably because he screwed up on the basepaths and should have scored in game 7. I will put up the '91 World Series as one of the most exciting, if not the best. 5 one-run games, 3 extra inning games including Morris' incredible 10 inning pitching performance in game 7. Just a tremendous Series all around. |
