Steelers won today, didn't they? Going to the playoffs too right? Cowboys need the win and look where they are.

Tomlin isn't even in the top 10 of worst coaches. Sorry.  :)

22-10  .687 winning percentage

He may make a lot of decisions you disagree with but the results can not be disputed. In the NFL it's about winning and he's done it. He will need to win in the playoffs but he would be hired by over 2/3 of the other teams in the NFL if he were available tomorrow.

And I'll add that I apply that same logic grudgingly to Chilly. If he follows up next year with more of the same - winning division, playoffs - then it's time to give him his due.

But he inherited a perennial playoff team , 1 year off a SB win.
going 11-5 a year is basically just 'managing' them.   I'd argue just about any mediocre coach could do it.
*8==>* LeBeau is the reason the team is in the playoffs this year.

Will be interesting to see if Jerrruhhhh keeps to his claim that Wade/Jason are safe for next year after this humiliation!

If history repeats itself, nope. There will be a new coach by May.

Wouldn't be surprised if there is another QB in camp battling for the #1 spot either.

[sm_shock]  Nope. You and I are going to have to disagree on this topic.  :)

In this day and age in the NFL you don't just 'manage' to get to 11-5. Things change too much from year to year.  If were that easy Wade Phillips would be 15-1 based on his talent.

It's why you have to praise teams like the Patriots. Love 'em or hate 'em, they have done a spectacular job of maintaining their level of play.

But I will agree he needs to prove it in the playoffs. One and out this year shouldn't happen.

I will say I agree with you on 1 thing, Darth Belichick is my COTY (tied with ATL and MIA really) my the way,  11-5 with an unproven QB against a surprisingly competitive division and having only 2 of his opening day Def unit starters the last 3-4 weeks of the year.

Tomlin figured out a way to get 11 wins out of team which had moderately significant injuries all year and an offensive line which was dire at times.  LeBeau is a genius and he's a huge part of the package but Tomlin deserves his due.

Miami 17 seconds away from one win to 11 in a single season.  Sparano is easily COTY.

Crennel definitely in the running for WCOTY.  He has my vote.
