Title: Urinal Aiming To Avoid Splash Back
Post by: dystopia on April 14, 2009, 03:25:28 PM
I'm usually a center/back wall kind of guy, but I'm thinking of updating my technique after a couple of bad sessions.

What’s the normal technique for peeing in a urinal?

The most important thing you should remember other than not peeing on yourself, is that any more than two shakes is a wank...

..and, that regardless of the amounts of shake (wank or not eligible), the last drop will fall on the underpants.

Of course, this begs the question, "What the hell were you looking for when you came across those links?"

I was wearing shorts at a urinal today and felt an unusual amount of splash.  Doubting my technique, when I got home, I googled: "urinal aim splash".

I doubt your technique is in question.  I blame poor design on the part of the facility.

I sit down to pee.  Partially cuz I'm lazy.  Mostly cuz someone keeps stealing the step stool.

X2, as evidenced in some of the drives and putts I hit.

Here's an interesting asymmetrical urinal design:

I mute the splashback by interposing, between glans and porcelain, two layers of cotton.  Otherwise known as "underwear" and "pants".

I usually avoid splashback by just letting hang into the water. The porcelain keeps the water kind of cold, so it could be a little uncomfortable, but if the urinal had been recently used by a non-flusher, it's not as bad.

Until now, I wouldn't have thought it humanly possible to laugh while also throwing up a little.

Those articles a both anecdotal and of little help.  I would have expected a government funded study by now that would have provided a definitive answer.
