No Wii?

not right now,  looking at (and using) sal's beatup ancient laptop , it became clear that a new PC was more pressing  :(    (trust me, I want a wii badly!)

combined with the fact that my parents and her parents gave us basically a month to 5-6 weeks of grocery $  for my birthday,   and the fact I had a 25% code for dell,   and dell has 12 month no interest financing...    it was too hard not to do it.    that machine, knock on wood, should be good for 4-5 years, vista ready (when I finally give in to it) , etc...

Dude, you're getting a Dell? :o ;D

see my last post.

considering just the processor, and RAM alone in it have a newegg price around $600, and we're getting the whole thing for $1200 (with 2y warranty and sales tax)...

trust me,  if I had the $,  i'd build a nicer, diy  rig

I think I'll get one.  Prob. well after the holidays.  My little one is getting old enough now to be able to enjoy something like that! :)

I'm typing on a Dell right now. I just couldn't resist the jab. The desktop in the office downstairs is a DIY, but hard to do with a laptop. Ain't nothin' wrong with a Dell, really. Particularly given the OEM alternatives. [sm_buddies]

Vista is awesome.  Pretty spendy, though, not to mention the 13GB of space it requires....

if you search this site forum, for microsuck and vista threads I started...   you'll see i'm a bit skeptical on the whole vista security.......

And I'm skeptical about anything M$. ;) ;D  I really haven't looked into the security in vista yet (because I know I won't be getting it anytime soon), but wouldn't it have to be a tad bit better than XP?

I don't believe in santa and I don't think there is such a thing as a SarcaZm Sensor, so I guess I don't need one.  ;)  ;D
