Title: Went to the vet yesterday.... Post by: twoiron on July 17, 2007, 10:21:06 PM ...because my cat had been in a fight, and had a real nasty abscess.
Anyway, they did a blood test to check for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. (FIV) Turns out he's got this now as a result of the fight. Basically it's like HIV for humans, so now he's gotta be an indoor cat for the rest of his life or until he develops full blown Cat AIDS, then it's basically all over for him anyway. Unless your cat is very young, he may well live out his natural life before the virus wakes up and stretches.
