 :sad3:

Texas has an abstinence-only policy in its public education system. The girl should have known that her only option was to not have ****.

Or...

We have to teach our kids.

I have two.  I fear if I didn't teach them and sloughed it off on Texas they'd just get lost in the crowd.  Two parents, two kids, 1:1 ratio.  The odds are with us anyway.   [sm_fingersx]

well, if they DO engage in abstinence only, then i guess there can be no children left behind in the toilet.

What's the point of having **** education at all in school if none of the responsibility should be "sloughed" off? I bet that 90% of kids already get abstinence-only "education" from their parents. They don't need to have the same lesson in the classroom. IMO, what kids learn from each other will ultimately trump whatever their parents teach them anyway. I think having a forum in which kids can have an open discussion about contraceptive methods (away from the presence of their parents) is an important part of the educational process.

BTW, do you plan on pulling out the banana and condom as part of your lesson plan?  [sm_devil]

Good point.  Let's can it.  Parents can pull their own weight.  I'll be first to sign.

I don't necessarily call it a 'lesson plan'.  What you describe goes by 'Friday night' in the Beatha household.

I'd be all for *feces*-canning Bush's **** education programs. There are much better ways to spend $270 million.

**** education is pointless. Most kids know what's going on way before these "classes" happen. I would venture to say that the grandmother was probably in her mid 30s. So like mother like daughter. I hate to say that but I have seen this at my work. 30 something grandmothers.

I am not one to judge people on things like this. Especially if they choose to keep the child. If family helps all the better. Pro choice or pro life I don't care, but this was a sad decision by the mother.
