Title: Sad to see JoePa go out this way.
Post by: MFAWG on November 08, 2011, 07:44:32 PM
This is a seriously *fudge*ed up story. I'm not so sure they shouldn't shut that program down.

I'm surprised he's going to finish the season (according to latest reports).

So disturbing, makes the "selling jerseys" controversy seem absurd.

I posted this topic before I had a chance to really think about it.

I honestly don't know what JoePa should or could have done specifically, but he could and should have done a *fudge* of alot more than he did.

There was a study a while back that determined that college football fans are the most irrational of any in the country, and this story absolutely proves it. People are actually DEFENDING this guy!

'Retire at the end of the season' my ass.

Both the president and Paterno now fired.

Death penalty for the program. There is no other option. They enabled a pedophile for the better part of a decade to keep the football program in the limelight. *fudge* everyone involved.

If they were in my conference, I'd use it against them.  4sho. [sm_headbang]

ps, I'm not sad to see him go.

for over 2 decades now he's been nothing more than a figurehead, an icon....Penn State's unofficial mascot.

it gets... worse.. supposedly...

really hate to see good honest kids there who aren't involved suffer, but the program needs to be suspended, and about 75% of the university endowment taken as punitive to serve a lesson to everyone else.

Irrational  (http://msn.foxsports.com/collegefootball/story/Penn-State-Joe-Paterno-riot-police-deployed-110911/?ocid=ansfox11) is right.

*goshdarn* losers.

I'm not even really sure why this story sticks in my craw so much, but I really hope the end result is this:

We need to have a very, very serious conversation about college 'Amateur' athletics in this country.

We, and I mean every single one of us that turns on a television to watch NCAA sports, have created a culture where somebody thought the lesser of two evils was to actively enable a pedophile.

That's what it *goshdarn* IS, and we need to check ourselves on that *feces*.

Nobody but Sandusky is going to jail. JoePa and the AD knew exactly what the letter of the law required them to do, and they did it exactly.
