Title: At the risk of making Sal jealous Post by: Uisce Beatha on April 09, 2007, 08:54:13 AM Jethro Tull comes to SLC in October. Tickets go on sale Saturday. It's in Abravanel Hall - the home of the Utah Symphony - and easily has the best acoustics in town.
I've only seen them once and it was in a reasonably intimate setting. Maybe only 3000 people. Amazing stuff. Title: Re: At the risk of making Sal jealous Post by: spacey on April 09, 2007, 09:55:07 AM At the risk of making absolutely no one jealous: I'm going to see Ice Cube at The Depot on Friday.
On topic: I agree that Abravanel Hall is easily the best venue, at least acoustics wise, in SLC. I've seen many, many great shows there. Not a bad seat in the house either. I was saddened and disgusted to hear that Morrissey is playing the E-Center rather than Abravanel, though apparently ticket sales are not going well so odds are decent the show will be moved somewhere smaller. My wife surprised me with Morrissey tickets on Saturday...I hope it gets moved as well.On topic: I agree that Abravanel Hall is easily the best venue, at least acoustics wise, in SLC. Title: Re: At the risk of making Sal jealous Post by: Uisce Beatha on April 09, 2007, 06:48:42 PM is it really jt, or is ian anderson ? According to the JT site it's Anderson and Barre at least. Rumor has it Cannibal Corpse is opening. Title: Re: At the risk of making Sal jealous Post by: BFBoy on April 09, 2007, 07:12:32 PM I only had a chance to see them once. ~1986. It was the 'A' concert. Had been a fan for many years before, and several years after.
I still like their music, but I remember when Ian Anderson said that JT would never make a 'Greatest Hits' album. It seems that was not exactly prophetic. Oh snap, you know how we do it. "Lethal Injection" was a classic album. I'd see him for the nostalgia. |
