1  General / The Cantina / Blader around? Speaking of great back up bands... on: October 20, 2012, 10:19:26 AM

I see David Sanborn on sax, Luther Vandross, Leo Sayer and one of the Staples sisters on backing, and I'm pretty sure I should know who the lead guitarist is but cannot place him at this moment.

I'm actually going to step up to a poor peoples version of the Galaxy in November.
3  General / The Cantina / Now we have to start asking the question. on: September 28, 2012, 04:47:40 AM
Is Mitt Romney the worst. Candidate. Ever?

We're past Dukakis at this point. I'm not sure that we're to Mondale or McGovern though.

The 'Holy *feces*!' factor is far outweighed by the fact that it now regularly takes an hour to play a quarter of football, which is absolutely maddening if you're at the game.

Goodell thinks he can't kill the golden goose, but he is dead wrong.

Can't play in the heat.

Everybody laughed at him when he said he couldn't pick the ball up in bright sunlight, but I'm here to tell you I have the exact same thing: in bright sunlight at a certain angle in the left field bleachers I can't see the ball leave the pitchers hand. Same thing is true on the course. In certain types of light, I have NO idea where the ball is when it's in flight.
8  General / The Cantina / [Politics/Religion] Can Mitt get out of Israel on: July 28, 2012, 08:52:00 AM
without starting WWIII? Time will tell, but I'm stocking up on canned goods and fresh water JUST to be safe.

Also shows what I know: Girardi had him in right against the BoSox last night, and he got a HUGE ovation his first home at bat. The Yankee fans understand that Ichiro-san is really a once in a lifetime kind of player, and can still make a major contribution down the stretch and into the post season.

It's going to pain me to root for the Yankees, but the guy absolutely deserves the best shot he can get to play for all the marbles.

We all died laughing when Her Royal Majesty jumped out of the helicopter. She's managed to become one of my favorite world figures, which is a little odd when you think about it.

Losing ARod put things in flux.

He'll be moving to left field now as well. Interesting to see if he still has the range to cover that much ground, and he could go to town batting with the insanely short right field porch at Yankee Stadium.

Now the question is: What happens next year? Alot of variables to consider there.

Terrific game, and the plethora of former M's on the Yankees did not go unnoticed.

I was a little disappointed at the cheers when Felix hit ARod, but I saw more than a few people that had severe allergies crop up when Ichiro came to bat the first time.

I heard today was even more epic, including a much deserved curtain call after the game.

Shows what I know. OTOH, he requested a trade and one presumes he requested it to a contender. Since trading him to the Angels or Rangers was out of the question, this was probably the best option.

The only thing that would be 'Enough' would be to bulldoze the stadium, and leave the rubble for 14 years with Paterno's statue sitting on top.

Got Kings Court tickets for tonight, planning to go early enough to catch BP due to epic traffic madness courtesy of Barry Hussein.

It will be very, very weird for sure.
