Title: Children of Men- mini review (spoilers) and thoughts Post by: Aske on February 03, 2007, 03:21:10 PM anyone else seen this yet?
What a sad dark dystopia lies ahead in this quasi-apocalyptic take on the world, circa 2027. Basically imagine what we (are lead to) see in Baghdad, and make it global. Compounding the problem is that mankind has gone sterile through some combination of genetic faults/environmental contamination/etc. Saddest of all, the apparent pervasive mindset that set about this 'place' is that of fanaticism (of both sides)... sickening, yet incredibly moving to watch. Up there with The Fountain and Pan's Labyrinth for the best movies made in 2006, and among the best movies ever made, really.
