Title: Home renovations suck
Post by: spacey on April 11, 2009, 05:49:44 PM
So the wife is sick of not having a shower in the main bathroom. "Piece of cake" says I. Well, 15ish total hours into the project, I've managed to demolish a wall, take out the old tub plumbing, run plumbing for a shower ("sweating copper pipe is easy" says my brother- *fudge* him), and prep the walls for tile. Naturally I said I'd have the tiles set today and would be grouting tomorrow... FML

The good news? The wife is out of town, so she's not here to be snotty to me about how little I managed to accomplish today.

The bad news? This type of work sans pants is not a good idea.

The better news? I've managed to make the most amazing cocktail: Equal parts: dark rum, light rum, Malibu rum, Limeaid, and a splash of grenadine. It seemed a bit sweet at first, but after my 2nd, it tastes just fine to me. A few more and I should be exactly where I want to be.

Down side to the most amazing cocktail ever (as far as I know right this second)? I just realized I don't have any food in the house and I can't possibly drive to get anything. What's the number for 411? I want to order a pizza.

What's the number for 411?

It's 911. D'uh!

Your day sounds like mine. I started 'Unpacking' and now have a WORSE *goshdarn* mess than I started with, which doesn't seem possible.

Why do you hate JTP?

Equal parts: dark rum, light rum, Malibu rum, Limeaid, and a splash of grenadine.

Does this mean that your drink has a total volume of 5 splashes?

Bob Vila approves this thread.

On the bright side it appears you didn't injure yourself or flood the house. Which is nice.

Any day in which you do physical work pantless and don't lose a testicle should be considered a success.

LOL  Kick ass!

I dunno.  Any home remodeling deal I see on TV features some sort of broad with big jugs explaining what needs to be done.

You sure you're doing it right?

Wasn't that a song by Shakin' Stevens?

If you lived here, you'd be home by now.

They certainly seem as though they are comfortable handling pipe.

Looks like a lot of *fudge*in' work to re-vamp a place where a guy walks into with such a limited agenda.

Having said that:
