Title: Hooooooooosh..........

12:17 p.m. — Report: Housh heads to Minny

Cincinnati wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh is en route from Seattle to Minnesota for a free-agent visit, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Houshmandzadeh met Friday with officials from the Seahawks but failed to strike a deal. The Bengals also remain in the mix to re-sign Houshmandzadeh, although the possibility of a return appears more remote than his signing elsewhere.

In Minnesota, Houshmandzadeh would be paired in the starting lineup with Bernard Berrian, who was a big-money free-agent signing by the Vikings in 2008.

But who's going to get the ball to him?

He spent much of Sunday getting a look at the Vikings' facility in Eden Prairie and finally departed Winter Park at 4 p.m. in a limousine.

We are no longer working on a tip that T.J. Houshmandzadeh has left town. We are now confirming that the free-agent wide receiver is no longer in the Twin Cities and was on a 9:35 flight last night to Los Angeles.

As we said in the blog posted moments ago, this does not mean the Vikings are out of the running. But it certainly isn’t a good sign. Houshmandzadeh was supposed to sleep on his decision at a Minneapolis hotel. But it appears he had second thoughts and decided to depart.

Pure speculation on my part is that if Houshmandzadeh went back to Los Angeles that’s a good sign if you’re the Seattle Seahawks. Of course, yesterday I wrote that Seattle might be out of this race. Anyway, the news is that T.J. is no longer in the Twin Cities.

I still don't get why they don't spend the same effort trying to get a #1 quarterback.

The wait is over. T.J. Houshmandzadeh has elected to sign with the Seattle Seahawks.

ESPN reported on its website that Houshmandzadeh, the top-free agent wide receiver on the market, picked the Seahawks over the Bengals and Vikings. He spent his first eight seasons with Cincinnati and had a lucrative offer from the Bengals to return.

Quote
Update: Michael Smith of ESPN reported the deal was more than $40 million for five years, with more than $15 million guaranteed. That means the Seahawks upped their offer quite a bit too get the 31-year-old receiver.

40 million for a former Raiduh is 39.9 million WAY too much.

Of course, the local sports shock jocks think this is great.

My personal opinion is that they could Jerry Rice in his prime, but with Hasselbeck at QB it STILL won't make any difference.

Garcia + TJH would be a great fit.

Rosenfail or Tjack not so much.

TJH is an elite route runner who excels with an accurate  or WC system QB.   He is useless behind a gunslinger or an incredibly inaccurate guy.

That was my point. Too many below average QB's in this league.

And TJH is not worth the kind of money Seattle is giving him. It would have been a bigger waste here.
