Title: I'm over Christmas.
Post by: Jules on December 23, 2007, 12:28:52 PM
Firstly Georgia now knows that Santa isn't real, so it has lost that bit of magic. :sad3:

Secondly my stupid fast-assed pommy sister-inlaw has thrown a spanner in the works (whats new) and is not joining the family for Christmas. My mother is heartbroken and carrying on as her beloved son (bloody stupid mothers, the way they carry on about their sons ::) ::)) won't be here, and it is all high drama, and really I just don't care all give a *feces* about them, as long as Georgia has a nice day, that is all that matters.

Ah yes....family crap at the holidays......

Last year was the first year Zoe knew for sure that Santa wasn't real but her sister is all over it. You'll do well to keep it in perspective and make sure Georgia has fun.

Good luck Jules. May you and your's have a Merry Christmas in spite of your SIL!

That was a typo Aske, I meant FAT.

It should be interesting as we will all meet up at a mutual friends house for our annual christmas game of bochi.
I will endeavour to keep my mouth shut, and stay well away from my brother and sil.

Agreed.  Sorry to hear that sweetheart.  Remember the reason for the season, help Georgia have a wonderful time.  Breathe, and relax.  It could always be worse.

Always.  That's why we're here.  That and some other reasons for the psychologists to sort through.

Cheers, love.  If I don't talk to you before then, I hope you and Georgia have a wonderful Christmas.

Kirk, too.  ;)

Did you get the High School Musical dance mat?   :D

I haven't heard of the HGM mat, is that what you got Maddie.

Georgia wanted an Ipod, so that is what she got, (well a cheap one).

Everybody be prepared to give me instructions of how to load songs onto it. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Laura has told me on a number of occasions how lucky she feels that she not only gets along well with my family but actually enjoys spending time with them. I wish I could return the sentiment about hers. Luckily we'll be spending Christmas with mine.

I'm looking at my daughters and wife open presents today, a 45 year old woman, and two daughters near 20, and I'm the one that "lost the magic" 35 years ago.

Try not to let Georgia (or anyone who reads this rambling) lose too much of the magic, when it gets to a point that you can't get it back this time of year really becomes a struggle.

It's ok to know that there is no such thing as a fat man that literally comes down a chimney, but I think that it's ok to also know that he is real, I think that Santa is a special place in your heart, don't let that place grow dark, in her or in you.
