Title: Hey Fuzz (FF 3way proposal)
Post by: Walfredo on September 13, 2009, 08:48:28 PM
OK here's the deal.  My wife's a Steeler fan.  I'm a Packer fan.  We support each other's teams too.

So I drafted Big Ben.  My wife wants him so she can root for the Steelers and Big Ben for her fantasy team.  He's her favorite player.  But she has Kurt Warner.

This is where you come in.  You have Aaron Rodgers which is who I want.

So I trade Big Ben to Mrs Walf.  She trades Kurt Warner to you.  And you trade Aaron Rodgers to me.  What say you to the manage a tois ala fantasy football?  What say the league and commish to the terms presented?

Thanks

LOL I should have put mfm 3way proposal.

If fuzzy doesn't want in on our 3way then we may just do Big Ben for Kurt straight up or each adding another player.

Thinking....thinking......hesitant to have two senior citizens as my QB's. Plus the Super Bowl Loser follow-up season trend is not to be taken lightly.

I may need more enticement. Plus I'm curious why you don't do the Ben-Warner trade straight up with her.

edited after reading entire thread.  :-[

Totally understand your hesitation.  I actually have Warner in my exec league big money fantasy pool.  Since this one is more about fun and bragging rights I figured why not us both have our favorite guys.  So watching football is extra exciting.  She actually proposed the trade to me Warner for Big Ben straight up.  I added the fuzzy wrinkle to get Rodgers thinking you may have had Warner last year.  Plus you are relying on two packers which must be hard for a Viking fan.

She was actually up thinking about her fantasy roster last night while she couldn't sleep crunching numbers.  She's taking it pretty serious which is so cute and she loves the Steelers.

I will trade for Warner if nothing else materializes.  But I wanted to make a post so that the league could see the husband and wife are not colluding.  I think Ben's fantasy value is under-valued with the fact the Steelers rely entirely on his arm for offense.  She agrees.  I think Warner might be slight over-valued because it is hard to repeat super bowl performance.  But his offense just needs time to click which they didn't get in the pre-season due to injuries.  I'm not too worried about Warner getting hurt than I would be for any QB.  I'm sticking with him in my money league and hoping.

I think the trade is pretty even but can see were some enticement to you may be in order.

Let's think about other players to add to sweeten the deal and continue this discussion.

Fuzz:  I can throw in Cutler too.  She can take Breaston and I'll take Donald Driver or something like that.  Or each add some other player with you getting the best me the worst and her the middle of the value based on projections resembling something to that effect.

I'd do it, but then I'd have to grow a mustache.

No objections here.

On paper Warner and Rodgers are almost projected exactly the same.  Come December Warner will be playing in nice weather while Rodgers is playing in frozen weather.

Hard to say what sort of enticement you need I mean your team is pretty good what with AD and all.

LOL  okay we are colluding but not for our own benefit

Not to toot my own horn but a thread I started in the clubhouse at that other place on a similar subject entitled "SWINGERS???" turned out to be a classic.  And I wasn't talking about TGM hitting vs. swinging the golf club.   [sm_devil]  Anyone have that old link?

I've consulted my FFL gurus and it's almost a consensus they wouldn't make the trade straight up. Plus I really don't like Warner that much.

And the Pack is at home this week with AZ @ JAX.  I'm still thinking about it but I'm going to pass for this week.

I'm still thinking about what other players make sense to be in the mix.  Agree the discussion should wait till next week.
