Yup, those are semi-trucks racing around the clay oval of Grays Harbor Speedway last night!

God Bless The USA!

They 'Only' had 9 trucks, which doesn't sound like alot, until you realize they're fricking SEMI's !

They're basically stock, too. At least two of them still had the trailer hitch thingies on 'em! Gut the inside, bolt or weld in a roll cage, cut the rear drive axle off and go racin'! And race they did. Several incidents of 3 wide racing (NASCAR has trouble with that everywhere except Michigan and California) and they were NOT shy about using the chrome horn

Lots of happy rednecks last night. Me included!  ;D

Just goes to show that if you make anything move in around in a circle, people will gather to watch.

But they won't jam the frickin' the place like they did last night, especially at 20 bucks a head when the normal weekly show is 12 or 13.

I tell people I once saw Mack truck racing on ESPN years ago, and they look at me like I've dropped in here from another dimension.

Kenworth and Peterbilt  fans no doubt.  True fans are loyal about their brands.

Hell #3 sold more Chevrolets than Seger ever did.

I'm telling you, it was real.  This is not a rabbit-hole memory.

I actually remember seeing some truck race on the TV...maybe ESPN? It wasn't on dirt though.

Here's a little better pic. 3 wide at speed.

This is actually more impressive than it sounds.

They're frickin SEMI's and the track isn't much, if any, wider than a 2 lane road. A 2 lane road that's dirt, and has a solid concrete wall running all the way down it/
