Title: Man almost loses arm on golf course.
Post by: Teed on June 26, 2007, 08:23:51 AM
I'm sorry, If I see a sign that says beware of gator, the ball that hits the water b/c of my errant shot is staying in the water.

One eyed alligators are bitter and petulant.  Everyone knows that.

I lost an arm and a leg once when my ball went in the water. Somehow that seems different.

LOL @ stegerman   ;D

And, seriously, I think I'd avoid the whole course if they had an alligator pond in the middle of a hole!  I smell a lawsuit coming on.  (Or, is this normal in Florida?  Man-eating creatures just sort of wander around over there?)

Gator said his Burger tasted like chicken!

Yes. Alligators are not unusual on courses in Florida and Myrtle Beach. The first time I saw a gator in Florida, I was playing with 3 older retirees. I pulled a shot just short of this "log" laying close to some water. Thinking about my shot, I didn't realize that "log" was an alligator until I was 15-20 feet from it. Then I almost killed myself running away from it. I thought the 3 old guys were going to die laughing at me!

Every couse I have played in FL has had gators on it.  I remeber hitting a shot from the left rough with a pond some 20 feet behind me.  About 15 feet from me a gator was just chillin' in the son and I had to hit my ball with my back to him.  After I hit he jumped into the water and scared the *feces* out of me.
