they had moments, but also some bad moments too

nonetheless, it looks like our screens will be pretty powerful this year

Screens generally stop working after about the 3rd time unless it's the preseason I guess.

not when you have 3-4 backs that can run the screen effectively out of a variety of formations
 :)

and especially when one of them is more powerful than most of the backers responsible for containing/stopping him.

Defense looked strong.  Special Teams...shaky.   Screens seemed wide open!!  Ben threw the ball pretty well.

Wasn't he 13 for 25?

He also had 247 passing yards the 1st half.

Early season will tell the tale.  We start with five winnable games.  Anything less than 4-1 after five games and it'll be a long season.  I think that Tomlin may have rekindled the competitiveness in this team.   Cowher had allowed them to become complacent and comfortable last season.

Don't forget to consider who they were playing - the Eagles.....

Ragging on the Eagles just isn't the same without whatzitzname.  You know, the kinder, gentler guy.

It pre-season. You can't judge the season by these "meaningless" games.

This is true.  The year the Steelers won Super Bowl XL, they started that season by going 0-4 in the pre-season, as I recall.  And that was a better record than they deserved based upon how they played.

It use to be that preseason meant something. In this new age of NFL it is to see who will be the backups and who will be cut. I would love to see more first string players and more dress rehearsals but no team can afford it.
