It's only the third time in history that it's ever happened, the last time being 1977. Back then there were no corporate dollars involved so there was no issue with a "replay". Now there is. The AFL Commission do need to put in contingency, however for the past 150 years or so, it's been known that in the Grand Final there's no extra time: - it will be changed for the "Replay" though, such that if there is a tie after regular time they will go into extra time.
