these 2 matches today have really shown the critical nature of getting a 1st serve in.

Damn Pam Shriver's confusing me. They showed a replay of a point in which Hantuchova, from the near court, missed an overhead slam by a mile while Shriver was commenting on it. It was right after Hantuchova won the game. I thought it was live. And on the next point Ivanovic was near court.
