Title: Good work if you can get it Post by: gleek on July 02, 2008, 07:45:50 AM Every morning I drive by the construction site of our new local library. It's being built by the county, so it's a public works project. That also means that all the non-apprentice laborers on-site are being paid the prevailing wage of at least $55 per hour. Today I spotted just outside the fence a makeshift sign made of plywood and orange marking paint that read "NOT HIRING!" Who'd have thought all those crappy jobs are already taken?
