Title: Restored nuclear capability
Post by: gleek on June 06, 2009, 09:49:18 AM
Our 13-year old, over-the-range nuclear device went kaput about 3 weeks ago. The replacement was finally delivered and installed today. Interestingly, the replacement has advanced, non-nuclear capability as well.

LOL Actually, I did order it from the Depot. I didn't place the order until about a week and a half ago due to laziness, and this was the first available weekend day for delivery.

It's a GE Advantium, which uses a process called "SpeedCook". Essentially, it's cooking with a halogen bulb. Instead of nuking the food, you're sunbathing the food.
