I know lots of people, myself included, who are of the philosophy that if it helps one's game, it really doesn't matter what it looks like. Square drivers might be where I draw the line. Having never actually seen one in person, let alone hit one, it's hard for me to say one way or the other. I'd be willing to give them a try.

If Tom Wishon is to be believed the entire thing is mostly smoke and mirrors.

I believe Bighitter @ BSG dispelled the myth that TW is to be believed.

Seems to me, a square driver is less aerodynamic.  And how would that affect the swing?

Seems to me, a square driver is less aerodynamic.  And how would that affect the swing?

According to Nike, the square shape dramatically enhances the SQ Powerbow and moves the clubs SQ Max Back Centre of Gravity even further back increasing MOI. “The introduction of the SQ SUMO(2)

Very little if at all, in actual practice.  The difference just isn't that great.

I was at the shop today, hoping to get a demo but they took it off the shelves due wrong type of shafts because it`s supposely designed for better players instead from mid to high h`cappers.

It will be back on next month! :-\

I have ordered for a golf bag which supposely comes november last year but not till march coming. I decided to forget it and pick a different bag anyway!

so, here's an interesting question.  is there any restriction on club 'depth' ?

i know there's a limit heel to toe, and face height, and volume...

so maybe cleveland could make a 'square'  hibore...   and REALLLLY push the MOI back

b. Dimensions and Size

    (i) Woods

When the club is in a 60 degree lie angle, the dimensions of the clubhead must be such that:

        (a) the distance from the heel to the toe of the clubhead is greater than the distance from the face to the back;

        (b) the distance from the heel to the toe of the clubhead is not greater than 5 inches (127 mm); and

        (c) the distance from the sole to the crown of the clubhead is not greater than 2.8 inches (71.12 mm).

These dimensions are measured on horizontal lines between vertical projections of the outermost points of:

        • the heel and the toe; and

        • the face and the back (see Fig. VIII, dimension A); and on vertical lines between the horizontal projections of the outermost points of the sole and the crown (see Fig. VIII, dimension B). If the outermost point of the heel is not clearly defined, it is deemed to be 0.875 inches (22.23 mm) above the horizontal plane on which the club is lying (see Fig. VIII, dimension C).

The size of the clubhead must not exceed 28.06 cubic inches (460 cubic centimeters), plus a tolerance of 0.61 cubic inches (10 cubic centimeters).

Well, thanxs for the intimate details and yes it`s all in the swing!

But I`m willing to try on the demo first rather than buying it, it`s safer that way! 8)
