So are you having an epidural steroid injection (because you used the word needle) or are you actually having a laproscopic discectomy? You may need more than one. Usually 3 in one year. Nor more than three. Studies have shown that too much of the steroid DepoMedrol can be damaging to cartilage structures elsewhere in your body. 'Sides if you ain't fixed after 3, you need more invasive treatment.
