A police report says a customer then told Det. Freeman, "You can't push down an old man" and began struggling with him.

No, you can't, but you can verbally abuse the *feces* out of him if he tries to check out more than 15 items in the express lane. :D

"It's for a cop...."

I found this hard to follow, even after reading it twice.....

Quote
Cpl. Larry Robbins Jr. of the Collegedale Police said he decided not to bring assault charges against Det. Freeman, saying the incident was a misdemeanor not committed in the presence of an officer, there were no injuries requiring medical attention, the suspect is not a flight risk, and "there were no other crimes committed along with the possible simple assault."

WTF does it matter who's presence its in??????  Honestly, someone needs to tell me wtf this means.

And wtf does it matter about a flight risk in bringing a simple charge???  We're not setting bail here you *bunghole*!

Oh, its 'simple' assault - thats not real assault apparently - just the illusion of assault, and cannot be charged.  Gee  ::)

What an ass!  This has got to be the worst quote from an officer I've seen in a long while.  Do these TN guys even have GEDs??  I'm so pissed - this must be how aske feels all the time  ;)

Apparently, police detectives aren't considered "police officers". I think it's like the military vs. civilian thing.

The cop was probably trying to steal a box of donuts.

Det. Freeman would appear to have a chronic case of testicular surge.  Such do not tend to end well without intervention.
