Title: Re: Learn about spaceage here (if anyone really wants to know such silly things) Post by: spacey on January 20, 2007, 04:54:52 PM door # ? Getting the dog was my idea. I've always been a dog person. Originally I was planning on a Rottweiler because my uncle had one and he was a really great dog. Because we assumed the dog would be well into adulthood when we had kid/s we did some investigation into what breeds are good when you introduce a baby to the mix and determined a Rottie wasn't our best choice. I switched my focus to Boxers, but they're really expensive. Laura, after spending a lot of time reading about them, suggested a Pit Bull. I relented (the joke now is that I was settling for a dog smaller than the one I really wanted- Pit Bulls are typically around 40-60 lbs, Monte is 95 lbs) and I'm glad I did. He's really the best dog I could have ever hoped for. Oh, and we named him after my favorite book- The Count of Monte Cristo. I tried a fretless once, but my mushy fingers couldn't find a pure note with a map and a flashlight. I do like the way a fretless sounds, though even if I were ever able to play one, its sound didn't lend itself well to the sound/style we were trying to accomplish.
