Good on Woods.

Tough on Paddy. One of the PGA Tour good guys, and a 3 time major winner.  Like what's his *fudge* said ".....they're in the final group.  What does it matter?"

That official must have been a Tiger fan.

Stupid ass rule to begin with.

1.  The players are trying to win a tournament.  Potentially career changing.

2.  The longer they take, the more the network goes to commercials, ergo revenue.  Not unlike the fix that's in in NBA playoffs.

:airquotes: Has to go back to X for another game :airquotes:  Oh.....Okay [sm_thumbsup]  I bet Budweiser is pissed 'bout that.

Paramour is making a lot of press these days.  Never a good thing for an official, huh Ed?

Woods is slow enough but pretty much in line with the rest of the tour.  Harrington is pretty much in the slowest 5%.  Shame they have to be put on the clock with so much on the line but we all love to bitch about slow play, no?

I only bitch about you bitching about slow play after I shoveled out the driveway.

Bull*feces*:

Padraig is one of the slowest players on tour, and being on the clock isn't a new experience for him.

In THIS PARTICULAR CASE, it may have been a bad call, but only because (supposedly) they were on track for a 4 hour round.

In general, if you have a complete hole empty in front of you, you are playing too slow, and it doesn't matter if your name is Woods, Harrimgton or Umlaut Strohson.

LOL  You disagree with me just because you can.  You make it sport.

Only when you talk too much.  ;D

FWIW, the genesis of the 4.5 hour round can be traced back to one meticulous player who never saw a three footer that couldn't be plumb bobbed multiple times, looked at from three angles, nor a fairway shot that didn't need analysis including the latest from the Meteorological Society.

His name was Jack Nicklaus.

I'm gonna say the rule is the stinking rule, and everybody has to follow the same one, whether your first off or last off.

And I really don't buy that being on the clock 'Rattled' Harrington. He's on the clock pretty regularly.

And if the rule were the stinking rule that's be great.  Enforce the bloody thing will 'ya.  The fines for repeated violations are small, the violations are not cumulative (like yellow cards, there's an idea!), the policy is unfairly enforced at the group level and the last time a penalty was assessed Moses was a baby.

, and everybody has to follow the same one, whether your first off or last off.

In fairness, yes.  From a fan's perspective there would be riots if a player, notably the special one, were penalized coming down the stretch with the tournament lead.

Something has to be done but the tour and the fans will never let it happen.  Maybe if the PGA Tour drew crappy LPGA ratings they could enforce the existing rules as that organization seems to do.

Edit:  Last undue delay penalty assessed in 1992.

Bingo.

And since when was a 4 hour pace FOR TWOSOMES deemed 'good' ?  These guys never have to look for a ball (forecaddies, gallery, etc.), they should be playing faster than us, not slower.

F 'em I say.  [sm_devil]
