Title: UNdoom and gloom... (for a change)
Post by: Aske on August 04, 2008, 09:32:27 AM
for a few days...
http://bloomberg.com/markets/commodities/cfutures.html

my prediction: it will be back up 12+% by end of the sept when the latest round of bank failures kicks in and  the latest national helicopter tour kicks off just before the election.   still sticking with $150-160 end of year  [sm_devil]

also interesting to note: even though oil has retreated 20% since $147, gasoline hasn't and that wholesale gas contract should still mean $3.60+ in most states  [sm_shock]

It can be therapeutic to take a walk on the other side from time to time.  ;)

I paid $3.65 on Saturday and noticed that it was $3.58 when I went past the station this morning. It does seem that we are typically lower than the national average here in MN.

I got it for $2.92 in Pennsylvania last week.

I would have welded a 50 gal piggy back gas tank to my truck had I known I was going to run into such good fortune.  Oh well.  It simply is not possible to plan for all contingencies.

(Of course, the clerk accidentally set the pumps at a dollar lower than intended. How briefly, I don't know. When I first saw it, I hurried up and started to fill my tank, unless it changed while I was there.  Then I started to tell people who pulled up near me.  Before long, I was down on the curb looking for Georgia license plates, waving my peep's to come up and take advantage of the "sophisticated" education you see in the North.  Lol!!  According to my admittedly poor math skills, a product of my southern heritage, I calculated that in the 20 or so minutes I was there, the station lost approximately $3289.1658 as a consequence of the error.)
