well,   it's hard to say how they will do on the course,  but here in the apartment playing   2 different types of shots vs. a prov1x  i have sitting around

feel of softness on forged sand wedge- about same (difference not discernible for the following shots)

mash chip n run type shot... fly 2-3 feet, roll 4-5 feet    prov1x stops about 4 " shorter

little 'flipper' baby pitch... fly 3 feet, roll about 3-4 feet.  prov1x stops about 6-8" shorter.

I am using them and like them more with every outing using them. Incredible for two-piece ball, and pretty cheap at WalMart.

Finally bought some of these, and played them last night.

Initial response.  I'm diggin' it.  Great feel, nice flight.

Weird side effect, I don't know if it's the compression, or just the distance of the ball, but I completely flew 4 greens, all with 8 iron or below.  I never do that, I'm the king of coming up short.

I like that.  I adjust for about a 10 yard/club difference, and hit 4 straight GIR.

The ball isn't just long........The feel is great.  The are soft.

stroh seal of approval.   Not bad on the pocketbook either.  Paid 16 bones a dozen at The Evil Empire.

FYI, as far as I can tell, the ball is supposed to be called "Fifty," not "fifty-fifty."  The name comes from the compression; the name everybody seems to be using came from what appears to be simply a logo design.

I'm jus' sayin.'

Thanks.  Too bad.  The name as I knew it was a perfect fit, and descriptor for my chances when stepping up to hit one.  Oh, well.

Tried a dozen of them.  Too little feel, they actually felt mushy to me.  Perhaps I'm one of those who like more feel than they provided.

Stroh........the 50/50 name is owned by Aldila shaft company - If you remember the 50/50 LD shaft that went down the tubes!  Therefore I don't think Wilson would step on those toes!  And 50 compression...........Woah...I thought those low compression balls were history..I can't stand them...they drop from the sky with long iron shots IMO!

I haven't tried it, but I've studied the Golf Magazine "What is the Best Ball is for You" article, and based on my calculations, confidence is not very high that this is going to be the ball for you, unless you're a post menopausal woman suffering from osteoporosis, an lcl tear of the left knee, and have below average strength.  Sorry Doctor, but I didn't want you to get your hopes up.

From what I read in another post, for the above condition, the best ball is the ProV1X.:)

Thanks for paying attention, BFB.  It's gratifying that you not only read and understood my highly technical synopsis, you actually internalized it.  Bravo.  If I had the ability, I'd be firing a +1 your way.

I played one round with the ball.

I like the way it putts.  Tee to green it didn't really stand out from the other balls I usually put into play, such as Titleist NXT Tours or the Bridgestone e6.

I tried some this winter, I thought they might make a good cold weather ball due to the low compression.  They were okay, but I liked the DT So/Lo better.
