For a while now my message notification says I've got a new one when I log in.

I look and there are no new ones.

I deleted some and it still says it.

I haven't actually got a new one since it started giving me the message every time.

Is my box full or something and that's what it's telling me?

'you have 118 messages, 1 is new.' is what it has said for 10 days or so now.

Anyone else getting this?

Said I had 2 messages when only the one was new though.....

I can live with it, just gets a bit annoying when it pops up every time I log in telling me evil lies about new messages.

I think a new message remains considered as "new" until you load the page that it appears on.  So if, for some reason, it was on page two, it wouldn't be considered read unless you actually clicked on and loaded page two of your copious PMs.

And don't flatter yourself.  I was up to 135 at one time, and I don't keep very last little PM someone sends me.  Nor did I send 134 of them to myself.  (Actually, it's that bastard ButBackstageThingsWereFal stalking me.  Gotta talk to dystopia about that freak.)

It's up to page 8 or whatever.

I tried opening not only the page that they were on but doing them individually from the list at the top.

Nothing worked until I got a new one from Fuzzy that was on the same page as the old ones.

Just a net forum fun thingy I suppose.

I mentioned how many I had lying around to see if it was a message box full thing.  I wasn't flattering myself, I have junk talk 101 for that.

You obviously need to check the memberlist more frequently - or maybe just read it more thoroughly instead of a quick scan.  His name isn't ButBackstageThingsWereFal.  It's ButBackstageThingsWereFallingApart. 

I believe that Mr. ButBackstageThingsWereFallingApart originally signed up with the name ButBackstageThingsWereFal, but changed his name to the longer version back when this site still allowed it.
