I might drag myself to a theater for this one but ain't no farkin way I'm going to do it in the first couple of weeks. according to early buzz, visual beauty aside , the film is also made to be truly heard{felt} on a high end, very loud and full surround environment. Considering that I usually don't go to the movies, the previews had me pretty excited to see it. IMHO, I could have waited for the DVD.

Spectacular in IMAX, it was a rare film in that it lived up to my preview-based expectations. Don't look for deep meaning, political statements, award winning acting. Just get a big popcorn, relax, root for the Spartans and appreciate the effects and classic underdog storyline.
FWIW: I'm unashamedly squeamish (I'd faint if I had to watch an operation) but the blood in this movie didn't bother me a bit. I think its because it resembled comic book blood I guess. Title: Re: 300 Post by: MFAWG on March 12, 2007, 09:47:33 PM Just got back.
For this old fuddy-duddy, it stayed a little too true to it's roots as a The plot wouldn't have cut the mustard in the old Stan Lee days. Still, stunning to look at and absolutely MUST be seen in the theatre if you have any interest at all in it. Besides, the REAL story is much more compelling....
