Title: zipfizz drink mix @ costco
Post by: Aske on October 10, 2006, 08:04:55 AM

we got some of the citrus one the other day, the stuff tastes pretty good and it doesn't have that weigh you down feeling if you chug it like gatorade.

I've never seen that before.  So it's only 4oz?  Is it liquidy like gatorade or more syrupy like an energy gel?

I tried a strange drink last weekend.   I'd heard of Arnold Palmers before, but I didn't know that Arizona Iced Tea sold a version.

well, the tube has the powder, and you mix it into how ever much water you want.  the thing recommends  16-20 oz,  but it still tastes strong to me @ 24.  I'm gonna try 32 or 1L  next time.

It's definitely dependent on how watery you make it as to if its 'thick' or not, but it's never really syrupy.   just degrees of 'waterlike'   LOL.

oops, now i look at the site more, i see what you meant.  you were referring to the 'liquidshot'

we didn't get/try that,  we got the ones shown to the left of it.

http://www.zipfizz.com/products.html   'powder'

We bought it a month or so ago.  I didn't think much of it, but my wife really liked it.  The tubes seem a little wasteful.

Ah, I see, the powder seems a lot more reasonable than the tubes.  Does it end up fizzy when you mix it (sort of like alka seltzer), the name suggests it is.

Oh, no, that's not what I meant.  We got "the powder", it's just that it comes in a single serving plastic tube, instead of a little wrapper, or bulk powder.  I just thought the packaging(while handy) was a little wasteful. ;) (Aske got me goin' on this green kick 8))

As far a fizz, not like alka seltzer at all, closer to a flat soda, but the fizz goes away quickly.

the fizz disappears within 20 seconds of when you quit stirring/shaking it (its from the potassium compound)

as for 'green',  you're right stroh.   unfortunately, they sell it for individual purchase and for multi/bulk  purchase the same.

perhaps the ingredients go bad if exposed to air--  hence no bulk container  *duh edit*  of course the ingredients go bad if exposed to air-  it effervesces in water, and air has water in it.

Sounds Interesting.  I'll have to try some.  My favorite sports drink is still the original lemon-lime gatorade.  I need to move into this decade.

I drink XS Energy drink. It comes in an 8 onuce can like Red Bull, but I usually dilute it. Also, is has almost no sugar and no caffeine.

aside --  Yes, for those whoo know, it is a product affiliated with Quixtar, formerly Amway. My wife likes the household products and I figured why pay retail. It's actually really good stuff.

Air has water in it? Suddenly the movie Signs seems incredibly stupid.  [sm_pod]
