It was fun and HOT! [sm_disgust]
We ended up shooting a 67 and that got us first place in the second flight. So that got me a little trophy and $50 to the PGA Superstore. I also won one of the door prizes. A Snake Eyes Cart bag. Not too shabby. As far as my play, once I figured out all my drives were going to be fades I started knocking out some nice drives. Also had several good approach shots from the 100yd range. Putting was my strength today so that helped. Three birdie putts and several par saves. The course was in great condition even though the greens and fairways were firm. Greens were fast but actually held the ball well. I would like to add that the Nike One Platinum is an amazing ball around the greens. They check up very well. There were at least two shots I though for sure were going to just hit and roll right off the back but these babies bounced twice and just stopped. The only bad thing was the heat. 1:30 in Texas is damn hot. Almost too hot. But the beer girl manning the keg on 16 somehow made it worth it. [sm_naughty] [sm_beertoast] |
