I heard we were going to switch at some point to the "Amero". Title: Re: the new dollar Post by: Jules on November 15, 2007, 12:32:14 PM It's about time you yanks catch up with the rest of the world when it comes to money!!!! ;D ;D
You have to admit your notes are pretty terrible, and they all look the same. Oh, I'm guessing there's some potential there, particulularly in Georgia and WV where it's not just topless. Not that I've ever been in such an establishment, of course... ;D Title: Re: the new dollar Post by: stroh on November 15, 2007, 03:39:34 PM There's something awkward about trying to slip your Sacagawea to the stripper. You need to think of it more mechanically. They're actually quite compatible. Title: Re: the new dollar Post by: Jules on November 16, 2007, 12:11:04 AM As if all you manly men of golfhos need to worry about strippers!!! ::)

Title: Re: the new dollar Post by: fisherking on November 17, 2007, 06:28:44 PM WTH? There was a George Washington dollar coin? There was a Thomas Jefferson dollar coin? The Sac-a-whatever is still in circulation?!?
Has anybody actually SEEN any of these coins, other than the Sac? Title: Re: the new dollar Post by: spacey on November 17, 2007, 06:36:18 PM WTH? There was a George Washington dollar coin? Anthony. Other than that, no.Has anybody actually SEEN any of these coins, other than the Sac? $1 coins are a PITA. Hell, $1 notes are a PITA. My biggest question: why do they still mint pennies? Can we not round everything up at the cash register to the nearest nickel and put the surplus into the educational system or something? I'd vote for it. But I digress. Interestingly enough, and at one time I was going to start a thread, I have been noticing more and more establishments rounding off when giving change. To the customers benefit. I've always thrown pennies in the cup they typically have next to the register and I am in total agreement with abolishing the penny. Having done zero research into the pros/cons of such a stand I have only my anecdotal experiences to base my opinion. Title: Re: the new dollar Post by: Clive on November 17, 2007, 07:40:12 PM Way back, I saw a sign next to the penny cup that read:
Have a penny? Give a penny. Need a penny? Get a job. Title: Re: the new dollar Post by: Jules on November 17, 2007, 08:10:00 PM Our 1 & 2 cent coins are long gone.
Everything, is rounded up or down. Title: Re: the new dollar Post by: stroh on November 18, 2007, 06:36:07 AM Way back, I saw a sign next to the penny cup that read: Have a penny? Give a penny. Need a penny? Get a job. LOL. I'm all for abolishing the penny. I'm not unlike spacey, however, in almost all of my transactions are 1's, and 0's in cyberspace. The last time I had more than 20 bucks in my pocket was from a casino win. |
