But DbW is just a replacement of all the mechanical interfaces with the car, ie brakes, steering, throttle etc. with electronic gizmos. So that all your inputs are computed and relayed via electronics rather than a mechanical force. It would basically get rid of the steering column, throttle cables, brake boosters etc etc. Title: Re: Drive by wire.... Just sayin. ;) actually, it was a vw rabbit that developed holes in the floor---a flintstone mobile that could get pretty wet inside from water splashing up from the road...a nuisance but not exactly mission critical....turns out, and you don't realize this until they blew..but .the break lines ran on the floorboard on the inside of the car, and rusted right along with the floorboard rot.
