Just curious if anyone here thought about how they talk about FGIers and the possibility that said FGIer(s) might come here (especially as the place has been outed).  Unlike another site I know, registration has no barriers here, so anyone can walk in and start posting.

the fact that we were outed doesn't bother me at all.  It should be obvious that I won't hold my tongue if I don't agree w/ you.  the evidence can be found in  the DA vs Duke thread over there at FGI. 

You stated that you don't like ### here, would you make that same statement at FGI?

To answer your question pers, I typically will post what I feel. There are only 3-4 folks over there that I think are complete asshats and I wouldn't care what they thought. I've tried to be more indirect over there though, like wishing *8==>*H a merrry christmas after yet another snide post. And telling porkchop how I look forward to his posts because of the inordinate amount of stupid people he meets while going through life.

I'd be more direct in getting my point across in a forum such as this one.

I can count on one hand the people over there who I really and truly despise (I used to need my thumb on the other hand too, but Persimmon has already found us). I really couldn't care less if they came here and found a thread of me saying what I truly think of them, in terms for which I'd be suspended over there.

I think odds are decent that one or two of them have already lurked here. And if they're out there, and they know who they are, I'd just like to say:  :finger:

As a moderator, no.  As a member, possibly.  But in either case, I doubt it would come as a revelation to anyone, and I hate to waste electrons like that.

Maybe it's more relevant for the folks here who are dual-citizens?

I like everyone at FGI, except for one person, Plattgolf.
I feel he is not a good person.
I really like TopShot, and I know from some FGI feedback, that some people don't like him.  I just think some people don't get his english arrogant sense of humour.

That's what I was thinking.

Platt's a good guy.  Generally pretty helpful in the equipment forums, as I recall.  Politically conservative, but not mean-spirited or arrogrant about it like some others.

I tend to agree with you on Topshot.  Aske-like in his cryptic posting, but without the links.  :o ;D

I think a lot of people just come across not quite right to some segment of the reading public.  But if you ever have private interactions (emails, PMs, intense bickering about a reported post), you get to see a different side of most than what they present on the open boards.  There are a number of FGIers who may seem quite prickly online, but have been reasonable and amiable in emails.

Read what he said to me, on a p & r link, it was about women being meat (a moslem one!)  He certainly got my attention, and I wouldn't call him harmless.

despite the astute rules afficionados proving him wrong  over and over, he kept starting new troll threads in different guises trying to get someone to agree with him

dlaidman was adamant that one MUST take relief from ground under repair -- i.e., that the option to play it as it lies is never available in GUR.  His opponent played it from the GUR and beat him.

He invented some sort of grammatical mathematics.  To wit, one MAY take relief from GUR.  If one chooses to do so he MUST do it a particular way.  Apparently,  MAY times/plus/subtract/divide/to-the-power of MUST equals MUST. 

He pimped this theory across seventeen golf forums on five continents.  I stalked him in lurker mode on golfmagic.com for a while.  After a while I came to the conclusion GolfBhoy was going to lead the rest of the forum on a quest to track him down and murder him.  [sm_mob]

Good fun really.

He's a nice guy, it's everyone else that doesn't understand.

KARTOFFELPUFFER
(Potato Pancakes)

6 raw medium potatoes grated
1 raw medium onion grated
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon  salt
pepper
4 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon parsley
2 tablespoons oil

Peel and grate the potatoes.  Drain the liquid.  Mix the potatoes with eggs, grated onion, salt, parsley, and pepper.

Heat the oil in a skillet and then put the dough in, 3 tablespoons at a time.  Spread the dough out evenly. Bake on both sides until golden brown.
